The supreme court has affirmed Ademola Adeleke as the governor of Osun State.
While delivering judgment today, a five-member panel of the apex court held that the court of appeal correctly reinstated Adeleke as governor of the state.
Having scored 403,371 votes to defeat Oyetola who was the incumbent with 375,027, the Independent National Electoral Commission declared Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner.
Following that, Oyetola and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) alleged irregularities in the election and challenged Adeleke’s victory in court.
