A Lagos division of the federal high court has arraigned 40-year- old Cecilia Agu,a sex therapist over alleged N275M Internet scam.
The sex therapist was arraigned on Tuesday on a five-count charge bordering on conspiracy, forgery, fraud, and obtaining under false pretence
Upon arraignment, she pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against her by the Nigerian Police.
Background
The prosecution told the court that on February, 20, 2023 the defendant and her accomplice who are now at large defrauded one Babatunde Oyebade of N275 million.
They collected the money in the Lekki phase 1 area of Lagos State under false pretense.
Agu sent Babatunde an electronic message pretending to help him verify, authenticate and validate his instagram page with celebrities of which she never did.
While the prosecutor Samuel Eredia urged the court to remand the defendant to a correctional centre,Elvis Asla, the counsel to the defendant prayed the court to grant his client bail.

Court’s Decision
Justice Daniel Osiagot in his ruling granted the defendant bail in the sum of 10M with two sureties in like sum among other conditions.
He ordered that she be remanded in the correctional centre until she perfects her bail conditions.
The judge adjourned the case until October 18, 2023, for trial.
