Chinese court commence compensation hearing over MH370 flight

A Chinese court has commenced hearing on claims for compensation by relatives of missing passengers who vanished on a Malaysia Airline in 2014.

The court began the compensation hearing on Monday in Beijing following a suit filled by families of the missing persons.

The families of victims are seeking compensation for the disappearance of their loved once after boarding a flight to Beijing,China.

According to Reuters, more than 40 relatives were seeking between 10 million and 80 million yuan ($1.4 million and $11.2 million) each in compensation.

Jiang Hui, whose mother was on board flight MH370 said they received a notice that court hearings would begin November 27 and is expected to continue until mid-December.

Jiang who is also a spokesperson for the families of the bereaved said they are also demanding a resumption of the search and re-establishment of an international investigation team.

Background

On Maarch 8,2014, over 150 Chinese passengers were on the flight which disappeared en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
