Justice Mustapha Tijjani of the National industrial court has dismissed a case filed by Hon. Balarabe Dandija and 2 others
The court on Monday dismissed the suit which was before the Bauchi Judicial Division.
The claimants filed the suit on behalf of themselves and 78 Councilors.
The lawsuit against the Bauchi State Government, is concerning their tenure in the 20 Local Government Caretaker Committees between September 2011 and May 2014.”
The court emphasized that the claimants failed to substantiate the unconstitutional, illegal, and void nature of their appointments.
Justice Tijjani underscored the constitutional aberration and democratic principles violated when State Governors circumvent elected Local Councils through the enactment of laws enabling the imposition of caretaker committees.
