The Supreme Court has affirmed Senator Adamu Aliero as the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate for Kebbi Central Senatorial District in the 2023 general election.
The Nigerian apex court set aside the judgement of the lower court which declared Saidu Haruna as the winner of the Kebbi Central Senatorial District primary.
Senator Aliero had filed an appeal at the apex court challenging the decision of the Court of Appeal which nullified his candidacy.
Senator Aliero who is a former governor of Kebbi State, had appealed the lower court judgement which declared Haruna Sa’idu as the authentic candidate of the PDP for Kebbi Central Senatorial District.
This was Sequel to the decision of a federal high court sitting in Birnin Kebbi, which nullified the primaries Aliero participated in which was the second PDP primaries held in the state.
