Court convicts EFCC Boss for contempt orders IGP to ensure compliance

Justice R.O. Ayoola of the Kogi State High Court has convicted Abdulrasheed Bawa, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for contempt.

The judge convicted the anti-graft boss for disobeying a court order following a suit instituted by one Ali Bello, who claimed Bawa had arrested and detained him illegally.

The judge directed the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, to effect Bawa’s arrest and remand him in Kuje prison for the next 14 days.
