Benue farmer, Ternenge Igbaade has been remanded by a Magistrates’’ court in Makurdi for allegedly causing the death of his wife
Because of lack of jurisdiction, the Magistrate, Mrs. Erdoo Ter, did not take the plea of Igbaade who was charged by the police with culpable homicide
Inspector James Ewache, the Prosecution Counsel maintained that the case was reported by the father of the victim, Tyoapine Sule of Tse- Agberagba Konshisha LGA, Benue on Feb 22, 2023.
The police told the court that the victim, Kpadoo, was two months pregnant, adding that the suspect’s wife bled to death after the farmer beat his wife out of annoyance.
The prosecution said an investigation into the matter was underway and prayed the court for an adjournment, pointing that the offence breaches the provisions of Section 222 of the penal code laws of Benue State
