Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable has been granted bail by a Magistrate Court in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The “Zazu Zeh” crooner was arraigned on a three-count charge of assault and theft of musical instruments.
The singer was granted bail of N300,000 with two sureties earlier in court today, although the magistrate said the singer is obligated to fulfill his bail conditions before leaving the premises of the court.
Portable was arrested by police operatives on Friday, March 31, 2023, after he refused five invitations sent to him by the police.
In a live video on Instagram which went viral, the signer was seen resisting arrest from the police where he claimed to be a ‘federal government liability’.
Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force’s Public Relations Officer, said that despite resisting arrest and injuring a police officer, the controversial singer has more than six charges against him.
“He will be charged to court for beating up a guy in Ota, who filed a petition to CP Ogun,” Adejobi tweeted.
“There are many pending cases of assaults on people and attacks, and he will be investigated because people have complained against him”.

“So, there is no sentiment in law, let him appear in court, and allow the judge to listen to the charges against him. He has no constitutional immunity anyway.”
The singer argued that his arrest was “unwarranted,” adding that he makes his money “legitimately.”
Background
Prior to his recent ordeal with the police, the singer has been involved in acts that have raised eyebrows in public.
One such was when the Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali Baba ordered his arrest for his purported ties with the notorious cultist gang, One Million Boys.
In a video that prompted the police to order his arrest, Portable was seen saying he formed the cultist group as well as another group called Ajah Boys.
“Open your ears and hear me, have you heard about Ajah Boys, One Million Boys, I’m their founder. Go and ask Sammy larry,” Portable said.
The Ogun state police command in June 2022 ordered Portable to avail himself to the command or risk getting arrested over his alleged involvement in the assault of a young man by the musician and some boys in a video clip that went viral on social media.
Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Spokesman for the police in a statement said “In the video clip, a popular hip-hop musician, Habeeb Okikiola, a.k.a. Portable, the Zazu crooner, was seen organising some youths to beat up a young man and inflict bodily injury on him.
“Such unruly and violent behaviour is not only barbaric, but unbecoming of somebody who is supposed to be a role model for the youth and, therefore, should not be tolerated.”
The Zazu crooner also fought with his promoter Kogbagidi over claims of being cheated.
He was also involved in a fight with Dancer, Poco Lee for intellectual property theft as well as stealing the money Wizkid sprayed him at a concert.
In December 2022, the controversial singer was seen fighting with one of his signees, Manny Money under his Zeh Nation record label. He accused him of not being loyal to him.
