The Supreme Court has fixed Tuesday, May 9 to deliver judgment in the July 16, 2022, Governorship election in Osun State.
The Apex Court fixed the date on Monday after taking submissions and arguments from parties in the suit.
This means that on Tuesday, Ademola Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will know their faith.
Background
Having lost at the court of appeal, Oyetola approached the apex court seeking to overturn the judgment of the Appellate court.
On March 24, The Court of Appeal in Abuja vacated a judgment of the state election tribunal judgment that nullified the election of Adeleke.
In a unanimous decision by a three-member panel of Justices, the appellate court held that Adeleke’s appeal was meritorious.
In its judgment, the court nullified the decision of the tribunal and awarded N500,000 cost against Oyetola and APC.

After taking arguments, the apex court fixed May 9, by 2 pm to deliver its final verdict on the matter.
