The Maitama Division of the FCT High Court has rescheduled the arraignment of Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria.
Emefiele was scheduled to be arraigned today alongside Sa’adatu Raman-Yaro on fresh 20-count charges bordering on procurement fraud.
However, when the matter was called up, counsel to Ms Sa’adatu informed the court that she could not make it to court due to ill health.
The presiding judge, Justice Muazu consequently adjourned the matter till August 23, 2023.
Subsequently, the SSS whisked Emefiele away from the court premises.
