The presidential election petitions tribunal has determined that allegations of President Bola Tinubu involvement in drug money forfeiture in the United States cannot lead to his disqualification.
The court confirmed Nigerian and U.S law enforcement agencies had cleared Tinubu of any wrongdoing in the United States after an investigation by Nigerian and U.S. law enforcement agencies.

Additionally, the court noted that Tinubu’s ability to freely travel to and from the United States signifies the absence of any ongoing criminal case against him in the country.
The tribunal also discussed Tinubu’s academic records from Chicago State University and the letter from the US embassy to the Nigerian police, which confirmed his clean criminal record in the United States.
consequently, the court rejected Obi’s objections concerning the admissibility of these documents.
