Court fixes September 14 to hear contempt suit against INEC chair

An FCT High Court has fixed September 14 for hearing in a motion seeking to commit Professor Mahmood Yakubu to prison. 

The court on Tuesday fixed the date to hear the motion which seeks to commit the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for disobeying court order. 

Justice Mohammed Madugu fixed the date following a committal charge brought before the court.

While the plaintiffs include; Otunba Camaru Lateef Ogidan and Mustapha Rabiu the respondents are Mr Yakubu and  Victor Oye.
