Kano tribunal delivering judgement virtually 

The Kano state governorship election petition tribunal is currently delivering its judgement virtually. 

The tribunal in a hearing noticed had fixed today to deliver judgement in the petition filed by APC against the incumbent governor Abba Yusuf.

However, on wednesday, the panel set to deliver judgement are not present in court and the verdict is being transmitted virtually via zoom.  

The three-man panel delivering the judgemnt is led by Justice Oluyemi Akintan-Osadebay.

The panel has dismissed INEC’s Preliminary objection that Nasiru Gawuna was not joined in the suit. 

The panel also held that the issue of sponsorship and membership of the governor is an internal party affair.

The APC is contesting the victory of the incumbent Governor, Yusuf Abbah.

Recall on March 11, INEC declared Abbah the winner after polling 1,019,602 votes to defeat Gawuna.

Not satisfied with the outcome of the election, APC approached the tribunal, seeking to overturn the pronouncement by INEC.
