The Nasarawa State governorship election petition tribunal has declared David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the winner of the governorship election.

The tribunal on Monday sacked governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressive Congress.

Delivering judgement, two judges of the three-member panel held that Mr Ombugadu won the election.

Gov Sule reacts to judgement

Reacting to the judgement, Governor Sule says he remains the governor of the state while his lawyers will appeal the judgement.

Speaking to his supporters in the government house, he called on the people to maintain calmness, peace, and adhere to the law.

Though he described the judgment as a temporal setback and a wake-up call, he directed the people to go about their normal activities in the state.0
