The Supreme court has dismissed an appeal filed by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party.

A seven member panel of the apex court dismissed Atiku’s appeal for lacking merit.

The Supreme court affirmed president Tinubu as the duly elected president of Nigeria.

The panel led by Justice Inyang Okoro, declared “On the whole, it is my view that there is no merit in this appeal.”

Atiku’s appeal had aimed to overturn the judgment of the presidential election petition tribunal, which had previously affirmed President Tinubu’s election as the nation’s president.
