Justice Mojisola Dada, presiding over the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos, has further adjourned the trial of Ismaila Mustapha’s.
As announced by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) through its official Facebook page on Wednesday, the court adjourned till December 19, 2023.
Mustapha also known as Mompha is a social media influencer on trial for alleged N6 billion fraud.
Background
Ismaila Mustapha and his company, Ismalob Global Investment Limited, were brought before the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Command on January 12, 2022.
They faced a total of eight charges, which included allegations of conspiracy, retaining proceeds from criminal activities, and money laundering, all connected to funds obtained through unlawful means.
During the last court session on September 18, 2023, the EFCC presented Ayorinde Solademi, their third prosecution witness and a staff member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Office of Legal Attache at the US Consulate in Lagos.
Solademi submitted a report from the FBI, along with an investigative report on an iPhone associated with Mompha, which the agency claimed was utilized for fraudulent activities.
Following the previous court session, Justice Mojisola Dada adjourned the trial until November 1, 2023, for further proceedings.

During the proceedings on Wednesday, the EFCC’s legal representative, Bilikisu Buhari, told the court that the prosecution’s next witness was currently overseas.

In her ruling, Justice Dada adjourned the case to Tuesday, December 19, 2023 for further hearing.
