Background

Court’s Decision
The appellate court, in its ruling, affirmed the decison of the tribunal. emphasizing that it was correct in dismissing Binani’s petition.
The court held that the grounds for the appeal were unfounded and lacked merit, thereby confirming Governor Fintiri’s legitimate re-election.
In a noteworthy move, the court ordered Aisha Binani to pay a sum of five hundred thousand Naira to each of the respondents.Governor Fintiri, INEC, and PDP totaling 1.5 million Naira.
This financial penalty was imposed due to the filing of a vague application, emphasizing the court’s stance on the importance of clarity and substance in legal proceedings.
