Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha has arrived the FCT High Court to testify in the case involving the suspended Governor of the Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele.
Boss Mustapha took the stand to testify against Emefiele in the case involving alleged forgery and fraudulent practices.
Mustapha, appearing as the second prosecution witness, refuted claims that former President Muhammadu Buhari had approved a payment of USD6,230,000 for election observers.
He emphasized his role in coordinating government activities and stated that he never received directives or memos from Buhari regarding the mentioned payment.
Mustapha highlighted discrepancies in documents presented as evidence, pointing out anomalies in the language and format inconsistent with official procedures.
He denied any involvement in the transaction and disowned letters attributed to his office. Under cross-examination, Mustapha expressed a desire for justice to prevail and disassociated himself from individuals implicated in forgery allegations.
The court adjourned the hearing to March 7th, 11th, and 2024.
