16 years later Ekiti judge reinstated after suspension

The National Judiciary Council has reinstated Justice Babajide Aladejana after being suspended for 16 years in office.

The suspension was lifted following a review exercised by the NJC, of which justice Aladejana resumed office on Tuesday.

In 2006, Babajide Aladejane with former state Chief Judge, Justice Kayode Bamisile, were suspended from office after they were accused of participating in a political crisis which led to the impeachment of the Ekiti state former governor, Ayodele Fayose in October 16, 2006.

They were suspended under the former administration of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Alfa Belgore on the counts that they were engaged in the former governor’s Maladministration which includes, the N1.4 billion poultry scandal, abuse of power and illegitimate operation of a foreign account.
