NNPP files appeal at the Supreme Court

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has lodged an appeal with the Supreme Court.

The party contests the Court of Appeal’s November 17 decision, affirming the Election Petition Tribunal’s ruling that ousted Governor Abba Yusuf and declared Dr. Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the rightful governor of Kano State.

Dated November 22nd, the notice of appeal, led by Senior Advocate Gboyega Awomolo, contests the Court of Appeal’s judgment.

The NNPP, represented by seven senior advocates and ten other lawyers in court, presents 10 grounds for challenge.

The party specifically challenges the entire judgment of the Court of Appeal, with the exception of the conclusion and orders at page 67 of the Certified True Copy (CTC), which includes the order favorable to the appellant on costs.

The respondents listed in the appeal include Governor Abba Yusuf, the APC, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
