Davido challenges 2.3bn contract breach suit by Pinnick

David Adedeji Adeleke (Davido) has challenged the N2.3 billion breach of contract suit filed against him.

The suit which is before the Delta state High Court, was filed by former President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick.

The suit was filed by Pinnick and Brownhill Investments Company Limited which he chairs against Davido and Davido Music Worldwide Limited.

However, he filed a preliminary objection to the suit which alleges breach of agreement/contract.

Background

Claimants ( Pinnick and Brownhill), seek damages, alleging Davido failed to perform at “Warri Again” event despite payment.

They claimed he refused to perform at the 19th edition of the “Warri Again” event on October 6, 2023 for which he failed to appear after collecting the sum of US$94,500

They also claim to have incurred  $18,000 additional expenses to secure the private jet chartered to convey him and his team.

However, Davido objects, claiming the court lacks jurisdiction and insists case is a debt recovery matter.

He also denies Sosoberokon as his agent, asserts $94,500 payment was for show promotion, not performance.

He also filed a preliminary objection also filed in N500m defamation case against Davido’s Staff, Israel.
